FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why should I participate?

Participating in the HRA offered by HealthCheck360o provides significant benefits for you as an individual. You will be given the tools necessary to work towards optimal physical and psychological health. This information is shared with you in the form of an individual report. The individual report will give you a basic understanding of your health and will be expressed by a numerical score from 1-100 that you can easily compare annually to monitor your progress. It will also provide you outlets for continued education in your specific areas of need. Best of all, participation does not cost you anything. Your company might even offer an incentive for participation.

How confidential is my report?

All of your personal data will be stored using state-of-the-art technology to ensure security and confidentiality. Your personal health information is exclusively available to you, as HIPAA regulations prohibit anyone from receiving your personal health records. Your health data may be combined with others for a de-identified aggregate report for your employer. No one from your company will receive your personal health information (PHI).

What data will be collected?

The self-reported portion of the HRA focuses on personal and immediate family medical history and lifestyle issues. HealthCheck360o asks the participant about tobacco use, nutrition, vehicle safety, physical activity, stress and depression, and other behavioral conditions that have been shown to be significant predictors of future risks. The biometric measurements include height, weight, waist circumference, pulse, blood pressure, hours fasted, and a blood draw. The blood draw goes through a standard panel of tests to inform you of cholesterol, glucose, triglycerides, nicotine and other health indicators. The biometric information is collected by a certified team of phlebotomists and will be sent to our lab for testing. We do not test for illicit drugs, HIV/AIDS, or hepatitis.

What information will my employer receive?

The employer receives an aggregate report which displays the prevelance of different risk factors within their population. Keeping with HIPAA guidelines, individual data is never shared with the employer. Typical data reported to the empoyer includes the correlation between risk factors and diseases, participation rates, year-to-year comparisons, changes in risks profiles, and medical and indirect costs associated with the risks prevelant in the population. This information provides the basis for informed decisions on additional support to target specific population needs. Your employer will be given data to improve your workplace and consequently offer programs to improve your long-term health.

What is the cost?

HealthCheck360o is a service paid for entirely by your company. The cost of your participation is entirely free and you may receive an incentive for participation. The only thing that you need to provide is a small amount of time. Your employer feels strongly about supporting you in your health awareness and realizes that Healthcheck360o is the tool that will achieve that awareness.

Can spouses and children participate?

Eligible spouses are welcome and encouraged to participate in the program, but that will be determined by your company. HealthCheck360o was not created with children’s needs in mind, so they are not eligible to participate in the program.

How and when will I receive my report?

Offline participants need to remember to bring their paper HRA to their biometric screening appointment and turn it in to the HealthCheck360o representative. Their HRA and biometric results will be processed and your report will be mailed to you within 10 business days.

Online participants will complete their biometric screening at the scheduled time. This data will be processed and your Project Coordinator will inform you when your online HRA is available. Your individualized report outlining your health will be available to you immediately upon completion of the online questionnaire.

Where will the biometric screening take place?

The biometric screening will take place at a location provided by your employer. Typically, examinations are completed on-site at little inconvenience to you.

How long will I need to fast and why is it important
?

Fasting for 8-12 hours is absolutely critical to attaining accurate results of your biometric information. Do not eat or drink anything other than a lot of water prior to your screening. Check with your doctor before fasting if you are diabetic, pregnant, or have any other medical issues that would prevent you from participating.

Why must I be well hydrated prior to the screening?

Drinking plenty of water will provide for a much easier blood draw. This is especially important if you have had difficulties donating or attaining blood samples in the past. Being well hydrated pumps up your veins and makes it easier for the examiner to draw your blood. The number one cause of faintness and dizziness is a drop in blood pressure; having lots of water in your system will help prevent this. Drink several glasses of water the night before your exam and drink at least 2-3 glasses of water the morning of your exam.
