Did you know August is National Eye Exam Month? It’s a great reminder to take care of yourself and your loved ones by scheduling an exam with your optometrist to ensure your eyes are in good health and your vision care is up to date. A comprehensive eye exam includes family history, vision evaluation, and testing.  Having your eyes examined  will keep your prescriptions current and prevent any complications with your eyes.

Below is a list of common symptoms that could lead to problems with your eyes.  Contact your optometrist immediately if you experience any of the following:

  • Severe, sudden eye pain
  • Hazy, blurred vision
  • Painful sensitivity to light
  • White areas in the pupil of the eye
  • Itching, burning or heavy discharge in the eyes
