Sweet potatoes are a great seasonal vegetable to to use in your winter recipes.  This vegetable may taste like dessert, but is a hidden gem when it comes to health benefits.  Read on below to learn the amazing health benefits of sweet potatoes!

Sweet potatoes contain many vitamins and minerals including Vitamin A, Vitamin C, B Vitamins, Fiber, Pottassium, and Iron.

They are a natural inflammatory.  Sweet potatoes are a natural source of antioxidants and contain a large amount of Vitamin A and Vitamin C.

Sweet potatoes do not cause a spike in blood sugar.  Despite their name, sweet potatoes have a low glycemic index.  This means they release sugar slowly into the bloodstream.  This makes them an ideal food to eat for a balanced and regular source of energy.

Last but not least, they are fat free!  Sweet potatoes do not contain any fat, but have a high amount of fiber to keep you feeling full!
