Research shows the stronger our connections the longer we live, the healthier we are, and the happier we are!
The holidays are a perfect time to strengthen our relationships with the ones we love. Read on fo ways to connect this holiday season.
1. Limit Screen Time
Social media can be a huge drain on our mental health. It distracts us from the people right in front of us! Make an effort to leave your phone in a different room when spending time with friends and family. You’ll be surprised how much better you’ll feel by ditching your phone for a few hours.
Here’s a few ideas that’ll keep your hands away from your phone and allow you to laugh and talk with your loved ones.
2. Try Something New
Break out of the typical routines and do something new this year! Sign up for a group wine tasting, crafting class, organize a cookie decorating day, try skiing, snow shoeing, or ice skating. You’re sure to create new memories and maybe even start a new tradition with your family.
3. Volunteer Together
Give back to your community by volunteering your time at a local shelter, donate a meal to a local nursing home, shovel sidewalks, or even get together for caroling. There are many ways to give back this holiday season and gain a new perspective. Your heart will be full, we promise!
We know this season is stressful and busy, but at the end of the day what matters most is how we connect with the people who mean the most to us. So slow down and make memories this holiday!
